Indian electronics exports to the UAE reached 6.7 billion dirhams from April to December 2021.
The UAE has become the second largest export market for Indian electronics in the first nine months of fiscal 2021.
India’s Ministry of Trade and Industry said the country’s electronics exports rose 49% in the April-December 2021 period to $11 billion from $7.4 billion during the April-December 2021 period. the same period last year, with the United States and the United Arab Emirates being the two main destinations.
Ministry data showed that the top five exporting countries were the United States with an 18% share, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 16.6% ($1.83 billion; 6.7 billion dirhams). The other countries are China, the Netherlands and Germany with 7.6%, 4.5% and 4.2% respectively.
The electronic goods segment includes computer hardware (laptops, tablets), consumer electronics (TV and audio), industrial electronics, automotive electronics, electronic components, LED lighting, apparel and telecommunications equipment. In addition, mobile phones constitute a significant portion of India’s electronics exports.
“It is a proud moment that the UAE ranked second after the United States as India’s top export market with nearly 17% market share. I think India is poised to break records in FY 2021 for electronics exports,” said Kamal Vachani, Regional Director of Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) .
