LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Attaullah Tarar said on Tuesday that the Punjab government has decided to withdraw notice of land acquisition of 6500 Kanal in Mianwali at Namal University .
Addressing a press conference here at 96-H Model Town, he said that Imran Khan had acquired 6500 plots of kanal shamlat land in Mianwali for Namal University without paying land rent to locals, adding that this land was located in front of a lake.
He said that this land was acquired with the aim of using it for personal purposes, adding that former Prime Minister Imran Khan abused his powers to acquire this land.
Ataullah Tarar said that Imran Khan also acquired land of around 8,000 canals for Shoukat Khanum Hospital from Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the 1990s, adding that in the 1980s Imran Khan had also submitted a request to the director of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA). He alleged that Imran Khan belonged to Mianwali, so he acquired this land by lake shamlat for personal use, adding that Imran Khan never declared his source of income in the country or abroad.
To a question, he replied, “Hamza Shahbaz is the Chief Minister of Punjab and will continue as CM.” On another question, he said that the PML-N had filed an application with the Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) against former Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar to probe his assets of around 10 billion.
