MoHAP launches free gym access for government employees

Sharjah24: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched a one-of-a-kind initiative to get all government employees to be physically active by offering them free access to GymNation, which provides the world’s largest gym facilities of the United Arab Emirates.
The 30-day “Free Membership” initiative, part of the “Ma’kom for an Active Lifestyle” program, aims to support the Dubai Fitness Challenge 30X30, the annual celebration of fitness and wellness. be in Dubai. It has also been communicated to all government agencies through official channels.

The initiative includes a number of awareness and creative activities that will improve the institutional fitness of MoHAP employees. These include interactive activities and competitions, such as challenge rooms that feature a set of challenges to promote employee fitness in addition to the “Treasure Hunt” and other traditional Emirati games.

Activities also include sessions for the ‘Makom Gym’ as well as the ‘Siren’, an initiative that will see sirens activated during official working hours to encourage employees to be physically active.

In addition, the ministry launched the “Healthy Reunion” activity to motivate employees to meet while standing. All of these initiatives will eventually help create a supportive work environment that fosters an active, healthier and more productive work environment.

The ministry said it will also support the Dubai Fitness Challenge with three other community events taking place at Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah, Sports Park in Ajman and Fujairah.

It will also dedicate its platform to host a variety of outreach activities targeting children and their families as well as all visitors to stress the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including healthy eating and lifestyle advice. active, which can be followed in various contexts.

Events will include a number of workshops and expert advice with athletic coaches, as well as interactive competitions for employees and the public, in addition to posting outreach messages on MoHAP’s social media platforms.

Adopt healthy lifestyles
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Health Sector, stressed that the ministry will support all initiatives that inspire and encourage physical activity of the public, including the Dubai Fitness Challenge 30X30.
“The ministry has launched a series of activities targeting employees in particular and society in general, to motivate them to adopt healthy lifestyles, consume healthy foods and adhere to physical activity,” Al said. Rand, adding that this is part of the goals of the National Disease Prevalence and Obesity Reduction Program, as well as the National Wellness Strategy.
