Jumeirah Creekside Hotel unveils new Artist In Residence exhibition

United Arab Emirates, Dubai: Jumeirah Creekside Hotel invites guests to step into its world of artistic wonders this month with the unveiling of its latest Artist in Residence exhibition.

Joining a growing list of emerging designers, Paula Blanco, based in Oviedo and originally from Spain, is the second artist to settle in the urban art center. Living in Dubai since October, Blanco took inspiration from the property’s vibrant surroundings to create a series of bespoke pieces that will be on display from 17e December. Concluding at the end of his residency on the 7the In January 2022 and open to the public from 4 pm to 8 pm, the exclusive exhibition – titled “Tear of the Earth” – will complement the hotel’s impressive collection of art dotted throughout the rooms and public spaces, offering an experience of truly unique welcome in the city.

Launched in April of this year, the Artist in Residency program is an ongoing initiative of the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel set up to help international and regional artists advance their skills through dedicated spaces, enhanced visibility and endorsement, while providing an inspiring setting from which to create works of art and enjoy life in one of the most diverse cities in the world.

This city hotel is home to one of the city’s largest art collections. In an effort to connect guests to the culture and heritage of their surroundings, Jumeirah Creekside Hotel shines a light on the region’s vibrant art scene, housing 482 specially commissioned pieces by 51 artists from across the Middle East. Building on its reputation as an art center, the hotel is also home to some of the world’s most famous design houses, including bespoke furniture from Sawaya Moroni, Walter Knoll, Poltrona Frau, BnB Italia, Frag, Se London, Matteograssi and De Sede. Even more impressive, Tom Price, an internationally renowned designer renowned for his sculptural works, was commissioned to create 88 red Meltdown Bowls, which dot the hotel as part of a limited edition collection.
