Young bowling sensation from Jammu and Kashmir, Omran Malik, stunned everyone with his incredible outings in IPL 2022 as he scalped 22 wickets in 14 matches while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. For his heroism with the ball and his ability to play consistently at over 150 km/h, he was called up by the Indian national team for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa.

Meanwhile, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met Umran at his residence in Jammu and congratulated him on his outstanding performance in the 15th edition of IPL. LG Sinha also said that training and other facilities for Umran will be taken care of by the government.

“The whole country is proud (of Umran). The government will take care of his training and other facilities,” LG told reporters who were present outside Umran’s house. On a question regarding a government job for Umran, LG Manoj Sinha replied to reporters, “There is a provision in the sports policy, and whenever he wishes, the government will provide him with this opportunity.”

Of note, Umran Malik made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021 when he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was only able to appear in three games for SRH last season in which he scalped just two wickets. Later, ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad secured the young pacer for a fee of INR 4 crore alongside skipper Kane Williamson and Abdul Samad.

During this season, he amazed and impressed everyone with his fiery pace and his consistent and precise bowling. Meanwhile, fans and former cricketers have attributed Umran’s success to former all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who played a big role in polishing the young lad’s talent.
