David Macklin, a veteran of Four Seasons, has moved to Guangzhou as general manager of the group’s luxury hotel.
Born in England and raised in Australia, David joined Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts over 22 years ago, working as Front Office Manager at The Regent, Hong Kong before joining the Four Seasons Hotel Washington DC as Room Manager in 2001.
Since then, David has worked at Four Seasons hotels in Tokyo, Sydney, Hoi-An and most recently in Langkawi where he received his first General Manager position.
A graduate of Adelaide Hospitality School who continued his education with a Catering and Hospitality Diploma from the City and Guild of the London Institute, David completed his formal training at the General Managers Academy at the prestigious School of Hotel Administration in Cornell University.
David, an outdoor enthusiast and cycling enthusiast, is looking forward to discovering Guangzhou and its surroundings on two wheels.
“There’s no better way to experience a place than by bike,” David said. “You can see the city from top to bottom and it’s a great way to assimilate with a wide range of people.”
