Seasonal farm-to-table restaurant Teible has reopened on the waterfront of the Jameel Arts Centre, after a brief hiatus to further enhance the restaurant’s offerings and support the brand’s direction as a LOHAS business (Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability).

During the temporary closure, Teible has implemented subtle and eco-friendly improvements inside the restaurant to ensure materials used throughout the venue work to preserve the natural environment, while its team of chefs has carefully crafted the menu offering for its third season, which features locally sourced seafood delights expertly prepared and simplistically presented.

Customers visiting the recently reopened restaurant will see Teible’s brand new eco-friendly ceiling made from ultra-fine wood wool sourced from an FSC-certified forest – used to support efforts to ensure forests are alive for future generations. While the new interactive chef’s pass at the front of the restaurant features worktops and coasters made from the world’s first date seed material by Dateform, a United Arab Emirates company, which complement Teible’s existing dateform coffee and bill trays.

Another novelty from Teible is the Fermentation Jar Wall. Featured on Polygood, a surface material made from 100% recycled plastic by The Good Plastic Company, the fermentation jars support Teible’s no-waste approach by stocking local ingredients to maximize shelf life and allow for flavor to reach their full potential. In the bathrooms, new walls are made from abandoned palm trees from Abu Dhabi that have been creatively shaped into panels that contain only safe raw materials.

From the kitchen comes Teible’s new Season 3.0 menus, including the bistronomy menu, a tasting menu, a non-alcoholic menu featuring local ingredients, as well as the debut of its children’s menu made with good ingredients.

From lunch to dinner, the bistronomic menu is made up of four main pillars: Farm, Land, Sea and Sugar.

From the Farm, vegetables and dairy products take flight on the plate. Closure of the Sheraton Abuja Hotel Angers Marriot https://kempinski-ajman.com/closure-of-the-sheraton-abuja-hotel-angers-marriot/ Wed, 19 Oct 2022 15:47:22 +0000 https://kempinski-ajman.com/closure-of-the-sheraton-abuja-hotel-angers-marriot/

As schools shut down for half-term holidays and a peak period begins from October 14, Emirates is announcing myriad ways to ensure a smooth and fast travel experience for families, including new updates to the Emirates app and digital check-in options.

All passengers are advised to arrive at the airport up to 3 hours before their flight and take advantage of Emirates’ multiple smart technologies to ensure a smooth journey during peak travel time.

  1. Plan it all on the Emirates app

Passengers are invited to download the Emirates app on their mobile phone to have all the flight details at their fingertips. Users can now track their luggage, as well as book and modify flights, download a digital boarding pass for most destinations, check which meals will be served on board, book their chauffeur service and even pre-select and schedule movies to watch via the ice in-flight entertainment – so kids don’t waste time feeling comfortable and happy on board.

  1. Online or remote check-in in Ajman

All passengers can check in online 48 hours before their flight using the online check-in option on the company’s website. With just a few clicks, they can select a preferred seat and meal, and take advantage of any last-minute upgrade options. At the airport, it’s easy to drop off bags at dedicated baggage drop counters and download a digital boarding pass.

Those departing from Ajman can also enjoy 24-hour city check-in at Ajman Central Bus Station. Passengers can check in up to 4 hours before flight departure, present medical documents, check baggage and collect boarding passes, purchase a bus ticket for AED 20 and proceed directly to Terminal 3 from Emirates, with regular bus departures throughout the day from 4 am to 11.30 pm. Upon arrival at the airport, travelers can simply continue to their flight.

  1. Sort your bags in advance or check in from home

A great free option, especially for families traveling with children, is to drop off luggage the day before travel. Passengers departing from Dubai can check in early and drop off their bags at the airport 24 hours prior to departure or 12 hours prior to departure if traveling to the United States or Tel Aviv, then arrive at the airport and proceed directly to immigration.

To make travel fast and seamless, Emirates also offers a home check-in service in Dubai and Sharjah, powered by DUBZ. DUBZ agents carry out the check-in process at the customer’s home, hotel or office and take the luggage to the flight while customers are free to walk through the airport later. Book and pay for the service at least 24 hours before the flight, and passengers can check in at the airport up to six hours before the flight departs. When a person books a first class, the home check-in service is free.

  1. Self check-in kiosks at the airport

A quick and easy option once at the airport is the self-check-in kiosks. Travelers can follow the steps on the touchscreen kiosk and complete the check-in process or use the kiosk without touching using a mobile phone. It is possible to view the travel itinerary, choose a preferred seat and add Emirates Skywards numbers. If you have already checked in online, you also have the option of using the baggage drop area to check in your baggage.

  1. Be smart with biometrics

For first and business class customers departing from Dubai, the Dubai International Airport Smart Tunnel is a world first for passport control, where passengers simply walk through a tunnel and are cleared by the authorities of the immigration without human intervention or the need for a physical passport stamp. All it takes to register is a quick photo at registration to capture facial data. Travelers can check in, clear immigration, access the airport lounge in Concourse B and board flights at certain gates only by facial recognition or using their boarding pass.

Passengers can also register to use the Emirates Terminal 3 smart gates and quickly clear immigration each time they return to Dubai. If they are citizens or residents of the United Arab Emirates, passengers can use their passport, boarding pass or valid United Arab Emirates ID. The smart gates can also be used by GCC nationals or visa on arrival visitors with biometric passports.

A hotel guest who was forced to stay in a room with cockroaches and other insects has filed a lawsuit against the establishment demanding Dh51,000 in compensation for damages.

The Arab man explained in his lawsuit that he had booked a room in a hotel in Abu Dhabi. During his stay at the hotel, he was surprised by the presence of insects and cockroaches in the room offered to him.

The guest pointed out that after a while he had itchy skin due to these bugs. He says he suffered material and moral damage and wants the hotel to compensate him.

He also presented documents to the court, including a complaint filed with the hotel management, photographs of insects inside the hotel room and a medical report confirming that he had been treated for itchy skin.

The lawyer representing the hotel submitted a response brief in which he argued that the case should be dismissed for lack of evidence. He also noted that six years had passed since the complaint’s stay at the hotel, but he did not file a case in all those years.

After hearing all parties, the Abu Dhabi Civil and Family Administrative Court dismissed the case on the grounds that it was without merit and lacked evidence.

The court said in its decision that the plaintiff had submitted photos of one of the hotel rooms with bugs and dirt, but did not prove to the court that his allegation of itchy skin was caused by insects in the hotel room.

In addition, the medical report submitted by the Complainant indicated that he suffered from first and second degree sunburn, and that he had two large spots on his back. These findings render the plaintiff’s statements regarding the onset of insect-induced itchy skin unsubstantiated and invalid, according to the court.

Capacity will be temporarily increased by 3,900 additional cabins in two luxury cruise ships moored offshore; and a third is planned

Published: Tue 18 Oct 2022, 11:53 AM

Qatar could invest up to $7 billion in the hospitality industry to increase the number of hotel keys to 56,000 by 2025, according to a latest report.

As the Gulf state gears up for the FIFA World Cup, global property consultancy Knight Frank said Qatar’s hotel sector is expected to grow by 89% over the next three years.

“Officially around 30,000 keys had been delivered by the end of 2021, and we estimate another 3,800 keys will have been delivered by the start of the World Cup next month,” said Adam Stewart, partner and manager. of Qatar at Knight Frank. .

He said Qatar’s hotel capacity would be temporarily boosted by an additional 3,900 cabins in two luxury cruise ships moored offshore; and a third is planned.

Additionally, cabin-style accommodations across seven fan villages, designed to accommodate the one million fans expected in the state during the World Cup, are also being rapidly assembled.

“Looking beyond the World Cup, however, reveals incredible ambitions. The tourism and hospitality sector is expected to contribute 12% of GDP by 2030, earning it around $55 billion, by which time tourist arrivals are expected to approach seven million,” he said. he declares.

Faisal Durrani, partner and head of Middle East research at Knight Frank, said nearly 27,000 hotel keys are expected to be delivered to Qatar over the next three years.

“While there is palpable excitement in Doha ahead of the FIFA World Cup, for the country’s hospitality sector the best is yet to come. Indeed, with nearly 27,000 hotel keys which are expected to be delivered over the next three years, there will be a phenomenal shift in Qatar’s hotel supply by the end of 2025,” he said.

He said the near doubling of capacity to more than 56,000 rooms will happen in a post-World Cup environment and comes as the country braces for an expected influx of visitors following heightened interest in Qatar a once the World Cup excitement has died down.

“Indeed, with new theme park attractions planned for Lusail, such as the new Winter Wonderland and Aquatar on Qetaifan Island, which promises to offer the world’s tallest waterslide, the seeds of a dynamic tourism and hospitality market are beginning to take shape.”

Knight Frank says tourist arrivals are slowly recovering as authorities begin to ease Covid-related travel restrictions, with arrivals from GCC states already beginning to exceed pre-pandemic levels. That said, visitors from India, which have historically been the main source of inbound arrivals, are still around a third lower than they were in 2019.

The ranking of operators upset

Research from Knight Frank also revealed that a shift in major hotel operators is expected by 2025, with IHG for example dropping the top three by number of rooms under management.

Durrani said Marriott Group will continue to strengthen its position as Qatar’s leading hotel operator, with around 8,800 rooms under management by 2025, up 152% from today.

“Accor and Hilton Hotels & Resorts will complete the top three, together controlling nearly 19,000 rooms, or one-third of total hotel keys. The big change, however, will come in the form of IHG slipping to fourth place, with around 3,500 rooms, from second place today,” he said.

And that’s not the only change. Knight Frank’s analysis also shows that international operators claim a greater market share by 2025.

“Interestingly, by the end of 2025, international hoteliers will control 62% of hotel keys in Qatar, up from 59% today. In reality, it could be even higher, as 17% of rooms have yet to be assigned to an operator,” Stewart said.

Luxury all the way

Turab Saleem, Partner and Head of Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure, said the hospitality sector will remain focused on the upscale segment.

“As in other markets in the region, the focus is on the high end of the price range. Only 14% of expected hotel keys are in the three-star category and below; however, this is the segment that could present the greatest opportunity to transform Qatar’s appeal to a wider audience, especially in the wake of the World Cup which will put the country in the global spotlight,” he said.

Knight Frank’s analysis shows that 76% of planned rooms will be rated four or five stars. Today, 69% of hotel rooms in Qatar fall into this category.

“A consideration for operators will be to actively target tourists looking for affordable or budget holidays, perhaps by offering all-inclusive packages which are already very popular in markets such as Spain, Greece, Turkey and the Caribbean,” Durrani said. .
