Are you looking for business opportunities in the UAE? Here’s how to apply for the new visit visa for investors and entrepreneurs

Dubai: Looking to invest in the UAE or want to explore business opportunities? You can now apply for a visa specially designed for this purpose. The single-entry visa for “Seeking investment opportunities” can be applied for by the applicant himself, without the need for a UAE-based sponsor.

This new visa is part of the revamped UAE visa system which was implemented on October 3, 2022. Visa validity can be selected according to your needs – applicants have the option of applying for a visa for two, three or four months.

So, if you want to do some market research before investing, here are the details on how to apply for this visa from the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP ). ICP is the immigration authority that issues visas in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain.

How to apply for visa online

1. First you need to visit the ICP website – www.icp.gov.ae and under the “Services” tab, click on “eChannels Residency & Citizenship”.

2. You will find three options for the visa:

• Visa – Single entry – Search for investment opportunities 60 days – Issuance of a new visa
• Visa – Single entry – Search for investment opportunities 90 days – Issuance of a new visa
• Visa – Single entry – Search for investment opportunities 120 days – Issuance of a new visa

Select the duration of the visa according to your needs.

3. You will then be directed to a form which you will need to complete with the following details:

Applicant Information: Here you will need to enter details such as name, mobile number and email address. If you see a section to enter your name in Arabic, just type your name in English and the system will automatically fill in the name in Arabic.

Credentials: This includes the UID number, which is optional, and the department from which you wish to issue the visa. This refers to the emirate you wish to apply for the visa from, so you can select Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm al Quwain.

4. Personal Information: In this section you need to provide your passport details, personal and family information and qualifications.

5. Address: Then enter your address inside and outside the UAE and your contact details.

6. Click ‘Next’. You will then be asked to upload the following documents:

• Copy of passport
• Color photography
• Qualification certificate (attested)

In addition, you may also be required to submit the following documents:

• Place of residence in the UAE (rental agreement or hotel reservation)
Health insurance that covers the duration of the stay
• Copy of return ticket
• Certified account statement
• National identity card for certain nationalities

Once payment has been made, your file will be complete and sent to the ICP. Once the application is approved, you will receive the visa by email.

For 60 days:

• Application fee – Dh100
• Issuance fees – Dh200
• Security deposits – Dh1,025
• Online services fee – 28 Dh
• ICP Fee – Dh22
• Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) insurance fee – Dh60
• Dhafra insurance fee – Dh60
Total: 1,495 dirhams

For 90 days:

• Application fee – Dh100
• Issue fee – Dh300
• Security deposits – Dh1,025
• Online services fee – 28 Dh
• ICP Fee – Dh22
• ADNIC insurance costs – Dh90
• Dhafra insurance fee – Dh90
Total: 1,655 dirhams

For 120 days:

• Application fee – 100 Dh
• Issuance fees – 400 Dh
• Security deposits – Dh1,025
• Online services fee – 28 Dh
• ICP Fee – Dh22
• ADNIC) Insurance costs – Dh120
• Dhafra insurance fee – Dh120
Total: 1,815 dirhams
